Max Hoffman recognized for his leadership in the State Bar of Michigan
October 7, 2011
At the 2011 Annual Meeting of the State Bar of Michigan, held in Dearborn, Mich. last month, Lansing attorney Max Hoffman was recognized for his leadership in chairing the annual meeting of Michigan lawyers for the past 10 years.
Hoffman took over from Elaine Charney, a former Administrative Law Judge, now artist, in 2001, as the committee sought to redefine the event and make it more relevant to members of the bar.
"As I now transition to assisting the new chair of the annual meeting, I look back at the past ten years and am proud of what we have been able to accomplish," said Hoffman. "It is now time to allow new leadership to step in and make their mark on this wonderful event."
Hoffman, an attorney with Fraser Trebilcock, is a recognized leader in health care law. Hoffman is a former Assistant Attorney General and established the Medicaid Fraud Unit, now the Health Care Fraud Division for the State of Michigan. Currently, Hoffman represents a number of physicians, clinical laboratories, hospitals, pharmacists, dentists, medical suppliers and others, in health care fraud related matters, as well as on licensing related matters. His experience includes representing the nation's largest house-call physician group in a multi-state, multi-case Qui Tam action brought by the Department of Justice. Max was the 2010 recipient of the Leo Farhat Outstanding Attorney Award from the Ingham County Bar Association. Hoffman centers his practice around health care and regulatory matters. This includes: health professional licensing, administrative litigation, regulatory compliance, and Medicare and Medicaid fraud among others. Hoffman is continuously recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for his work in Administrative and Regulatory Law.
